On February 6, the 8th International Expo of Fuling Zhacai Industry of Chongqing officially opened at the Fuling Exhibition and Sales Center in Fuling District, Chongqing. Domestic and international industry experts, corporate representatives, channel partners, investment institutions, and media reporters gathered to witness this grand industry event.

A New Chapter of Flavor: Consolidating the Foundation, Charting the Blueprint

In his address, Fu Yun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Fuling District Committee, reviewed the development path of Fuling’s Zhacai industry, which has adhered to the integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries, technological empowerment, farmer engagement, and open cooperation. He stressed that Fuling will continue to drive the Zhacai industry toward branding, green, intelligent, and international leapfrog development. He also extended a sincere invitation to partners worldwide to invest and develop their businesses in Fuling.

Leading the Culinary Trend: Innovation-Driven Transformation of Products

Industrial innovation has become a focus. Zeng Liang, a Young Changjiang Scholar recognized by the Ministry of Education and President of Chongqing Yudongnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, offered a scientific analysis of the unique flavors of Zhacai, providing a strong theoretical foundation to support the industry’s high-quality development. Chongqing Fuling Zhacai Group Co., Ltd. unveiled a range of innovative new products, such as “Zhacai Crisp” and “Carmine Radish Juice,” highlighting its ambition to expand beyond traditional side dishes into the snack food and healthy beverage fields. Hongli Food launched new “simple formula” products in response to the growing market demand for clean-label and healthy products, showcasing the industry’s robust R&D capabilities and keen market insights.

Flavors Connecting the World: Unified Identity, Embracing Globalization

A significant milestone has been achieved in advancing brand internationalization. At the Expo, the official standard translations and pronunciations of “Fuling Zhacai” in five major international languages—Arabic, English, French, Russian, and Spanish—were released, resolving the long-standing issue of inconsistent translations and eliminating key obstacles to the brand’s global expansion. The event also appointed both Chinese and international “Zhacai Brand Ambassadors,” leveraging the influence of key opinion leaders to further expand the market reach. The 2025 Industry Model List was unveiled to honor outstanding scientific research teams, marketing leaders, and large-scale planting and processing enterprises, setting industry benchmarks.

Flavor Expansion: Technological Empowerment, Win-win Cooperation

Advanced technologies are propelling the industry upgrade. Zhang Min, Second-Level Professor and Zhishan Distinguished Professor at the School of Food Science and Technology, Jiangnan University, provided strategic guidance for enhancing industry quality through high-value preservation packaging for fruits and vegetables. The on-site signing ceremony yielded substantial results, covering cooperation in diverse areas such as tumorous stem mustard production and sales, omni-channel expansion, and digital empowerment. Notably, projects including cross-sector agreements with gaming companies and the integration of smart agriculture and industrial big data platforms underscore the emerging trend of deep industry integration with the digital economy.

Industry Collaboration: Fund Launch, Financial Vitality

The Fuling Zhacai Industry Development Fund was officially launched. Beginning in 2026, the People’s Government of Fuling District will allocate an annual budget of RMB 12 million to guide industry development, adopting a market-driven approach and focusing on three key areas: hard technology, emerging business formats, and sustainability. Each year, this initiative is projected to attract approximately RMB 50 million in social investment, providing robust financial support for the sustainable growth of the sector.

Continuing with the theme “The Aroma of Fuling Zhacai Wafting Around the World,” this year’s Expo introduces an innovative “fair + exhibition + competition” integrated format. A diverse array of events will also be held, including industry trade negotiations, culinary invitationals, and an online New Year Shopping Festival. Through a comprehensive and multidimensional presentation, the Expo will highlight the entire industrial ecosystem of Fuling Zhacai—from seed to brand—advancing high-quality industry development and elevating international cooperation to new heights.
